This is a quick note to all of the readers of this blog. Regardless of your politics, I think it is fair to say that we (or most of we) are concerned with the state of jobs in this country. I just wanted to take a second to mention the fact that we all have the power to help create jobs, whether we are business owners or employees. The great equalizer is Kickstarter. My most recent donation has been to Greg Hydle’s Bamboo Blackbox Cases for Apple iPads, Mac Airs, and MacBook Pros. Whether you have a need for Greg’s product is irrelevant. The point is the guy is trying to do something. And in the process, he would be employing other people by virtue of his contracts for milling and finishing work, etc.
And you can make a difference. Most projects except $1 as the minimum donation, but have $10, $25 and higher levels. Perhaps you look at that say, “Eh, a dollar? What difference could that make?” A lot actually. It’s called crowdsourcing. The more the merrier.
So, listen. Check out Kickstarter. And if you are a Mac owner (iPad2, Air, Pro user), check out Greg’s project. There are many, many people trying hard to make it, and you could be the difference between success and failure.

Excellent post on a topic that needs and deserves publicity. Kickstarter is one of the better ideas of the internet age. I will have to check out Greg’s project.
Thanks Jay. Kickstarter really is great, and I hope more people chip in to make some projects come to life.
